So next year (June/July 2015) i'll be able to go for my PPL. On the condition that my wife can come too and we can make a "holiday" of it for a month or so.
The only place i'd looked at so far was FIS in Jerez which looks really good, but in the spirit of fully researching places i thought i'd ask if there was anywhere else people would recommend?

My Wife speaks French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese so those places would probably be preferable so that she can spend time on her own while i'm training.

I found this guy on a google search. Anyone know if it's any good? - PPL flight training in France - Stuart Morton

Obviously cost is a factor but quality of training is the highest priority and i won't even get permission from my better half if it's not somewhere she can enjoy for a month.

I've also just found this place, which is obviously not in France or Spain but looks really good. Has anyone used them before?
Pilot and MCC training at Kavala International Airport in Greece - Training College

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hello,

Madrid Cuatro-Vientos if full of pretty good schools where you can do your PPL kinda fast.
Generally June/July weather is perfect (you could have some summer storms like we've had this week) but you can fly all day.
Cuatro-Vientos opens at 9AM and closes at sunset, today the ATIS said 19:48Z (21:48 local time) so you'd have plenty of time to fly and build your hours.

As I said, there're quite a lot of schools there, if you want some specific opinions just let me know. I will be happy to help!

I am actually from Jerez (but I live in Madrid). As far as I remember in Jerez you only have the FTE and the Airclub, which I do not recommend.

Hope this helps

Thanks, i'll look into those.

Do you have any information about specific schools? Are there any who cater for English speaking students?

Thanks!

Flying training at Limoges spoken of highly, but no personal experience. His aim is to maintain the standards set by the late Sue Virr. Good luck

Sounds good. I'll try and get in touch. Cheers!

While your intention to involve your better half in your passion for aviation is laudable, I put it to you that she won't enjoy that month one bit. If you are planning to obtain a PPL from scratch in said month, you'll be totally immersed in it. A good thing, IMO, but not conducive to peaceful enjoyment of a relationship. You have been warned....

Take your spouse with you if that is your wish. :ok::ok:

Disregard any negative thoughts about it.

I had my spouse come over to Florida during my flight training and that actually help me enjoy the training better. She was busy exploring Florida attraction while I was away training.

I can highly recommend Stu. Only "teacher" that discovered how I learn within 30 minutes.

I started last September. Happily drive the 700km one way to get some hours in...
