went flying yesterday in south east
I went for a local and a few circuits yesterday Rutan Varieze 0-200 and I must what a blast it was up at 3000ft with a tail wind i had a ground speed of 240mph :) but then turned round into wind and only had 85mph !
But what i did find the weirdest feeling was going downwind joining onto left base at 1000ft QFE it felt like having the arse end out in a car round a corner :):) Anyway I had fun. just had to share anyone else go flying yesterday? |
Went flying Wednesday evening and had a tailwind all the way back fron Sherburn to Lincoln, averaging 140kts plus in a Warrior. Felt like I was in a Bonanza. Mind you I'd flown a 152 up there earlier in the day and was averaging 60 kts...

A chap I know (as may a few more people round here) flew EGTK-EDTY in a PA46, and recorded 387 kts at one moment.

Nothing like a pair of random ICAO codes to make a thread grind to a halt. :ugh:
|
ICAO codes are essential when travelling between language zones, as most of us struggle to pronounce or spell the names of a majority of airfields in other countries.
That and all you really need to care about in the context of Jan's post is that it was "somewhere in Britain" to "somewhere in Germany". G |
EGTK-EDTY
Oxford to somewhere in Germany. Now you know!:) |
Heefro, Embruu, glessgae, Looting and Durum Tease
|
You forgot Nookasell, Leverpule and Brissle.
|
I flew from ZZZZ to ZZZZ ;)
Just a quick bimble around Abergavenny following some maintenance, but turbulence and mountain wave activity meant it wasn't much fun so quick return once testing completed. |
Try Home not my site but do know the owner.
Word of caution fly safely. I know I shouldn't have to say it but... If it's not right mods my apologies. |
