Apparently I jumped the gun a little...they have just started the beta testing of the UKRunways app according to FBook ...but they are after UK folks to give it a run... If its anywhere near the oz version I can see a lot of happy poms!

Whatever the law says, who on earth would go flying without a map and compass????? I use Flymap on an ipad attached to the top of the binnacle and it is stunning in terms of size and clarity and colour as well as seemless progression from one map to another. But it isnt infallible

We had the same discussion when DECCA came out and then GPS.

Does anyone use those iPhone Naviagation Apps
 

I use sky demon on iPad 2 with separate gns receiver on dash and as a back up i have air nav pro using iPhone 5 and its own internal gps receiver....

A map is in the back but to be honest i still feel funny if i don't plan the flight the old way and using sky demon... I need both now!

I can whip my chart out if i deem it necessary
