There were five passengers. Five victims are to be deplored, "announced the French gendarmerie.

For an unknown reason the time, the twin-engine crashed into the town of Saint-Pierre-de-Bressieux, close to the airport, a few minutes after takeoff.

The aircraft was heading to Morocco, where he was registered, with a stopover in Spain, it was learned from sources close to the investigation. The alert was given by a resident of Saint-Pierre-de-Bressieux who saw the plane crashing against a hill.

Relief then dispatched to the scene discovered a burning aircraft and five lifeless body. The identity of the passengers was not communicated in the first instance, no more than their nationality

The paper has the aircraft type down as a CASA C-295, one would think a military-transport type turboprop an unusual aircraft type for a family?

Err, I think the C-295 is being mentioned in the context of an accident in the area last year.

That was the crash in November in Lozere. Nothing in the article, that it was the same aircraft type here.

One blog is suggesting the aircraft is a Piper Seneca.
