Jenni Rivera has sold more than 15 million records of traditional music. The Mexican transport ministry has launched a search for a missing aeroplane in which the Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera was travelling. The Learjet disappeared from radar screens about 100km (60 miles) from the northern city of Monterrey, the ministry said in a statement. Two pilots and four other passengers were on the plane. Ms Rivera, born in California in 1969 to Mexican parents, has sold more than 15 million records of Norteno music. She is a judge in the popular television programme La Voz (The Voice).
