RV Engine
I have the perfect engine for an RV in the UK. Where would you suggest that I advertise it?

You just did!

Gosh - that never occurred to me:E

For any RV? With the RV-3 accepting (as published) 160 HP at most, and the RV-10 requiring 210 at least, you must have access to some mechanical genius. Especially if this ideal engine can not only be reconfigured for various power ratings but on top also changes weight accordingly.

There's a classified section on the UK RV bulletin board, though it doesn't get a lot of traffic.
You could join the rvsqn yahoo email list and post there. It gets a fair proportion of the UK RV builders and fliers. Other than that Afors is as good as anywhere. |
Lyc 360s
I have two engines - both 360's. One could be 180hp the other 200. If I were to swap the crank out I am sure I could make one 160hp.
Mechanical genius? I don't think so. Fordaire will do the rebuilds and the donks will be issued with a EASA Form 1. RV's/Pitts anything that needs a 360 core - could be injected or normally aspirated, could have electronic ignition or magnetos, could be inverted or S&L. I'll look at AFORS - thank you. Stik |

Form1
If the engines were built with STC'd components then a Form 1 would be issued. If a potential LAA builder wants some gucci bits that are not STC'd then obviously a Form1 would not be issued.
I originally envisioned them going to someone who knew exactly the components that they desired so they could be bespoke built (eg. hi comp pistons & one mag replaced with electronic ignition. A SkyDynamics exhaust and Airflow injector unit.) Stik |
