Just look at the quality of work. Respect:D
If it's that well built just think what it'll fly like. More, more :ok: SGC |

She does look lovely! I presume looking at the location map that the aircraft will be Turweston based?
A friend of mine built an RV6A from a set of plans so he had to construct every part and that took 5 years 18 months is good going but i presume pretty much a kit to build in that time? She looks a delight and will fly the same :ok: I always admire people who have the patience and commitment to undertake such projects as well as the understanding wives! When do you expect her to Fly? pace |
"spar pins" next to starter switch ???????

I guess 'Spar Pins' is a warning light to ensure they are locked (folding wings maybe?)
The one thing that stood out for me is the 'old' altimeter. With all the state of the art electronic gizmos fitted, it's probably just a back up but it looks out of place amongst all that new gear. Great job anyhow:ok: |
No folding wings on the RV-12
|
Maybe not 'folding' but certainly 'removable', hence the need to check the pins are in......
|
The RV-12 wings are removable (as in the video) rather than 'folding'. Two pins fit through the over lapping spar extensions and through the fuselage bulkheads.
If the wing pins are not in and locked, proximity sensors prevent the engine from being started. The pins are eaily inspected from inside the cockpit and if they are seen to be in but the engine won't turn, there is proabably a sensor failure. The 'spar pin' overide switch is then pressed allowing the engine to be started. This would only happen away from base so seems to be a sensible idea.... |
So, after 2 RV-4s an RV-9 and now an RV-12; I guess Joe will be starting an RV-14 as soon as the workshop's empty;)
Nice work. I look forward to seeing it fully liveried. |
Looks fantastic. I'd question the use of fiddly little automotive fuses instead of circuit breakers though?

G-RVIZ..now moves..
...under its own power.
Oh and the iPad with Memory Map on it was put in to check if it could get a GPS signal. Which it could mounted down there. |
