I am a little confused - do you have a web site, are you suggesting we plan it for you?

Any more clues, such as aircraft type, speed and range....

What about VHF coverage (FL140) between CYYR to EGPK through BGBW and BIKF

What about altn route? *

What about WX changes in TMA's July/Aug

My father and my flt instructor did that with a C172. From NYC aerea to Holland

What about VHF coverage (FL140) between CYYR to EGPK through BGBW and BIKF

HF and Satellite Phone is what I would suggest.

What about WX changes in TMA's July/Aug

Something you should be prepare for... long waiting and local excursions :)

Keep in mind the special equipment you should have on board..such as raft, vest, maybe oxigen?
I still don't know which aircraft you will use..

When? Route details?

HF would be a great tool. Problem: EMI/EMC to electronic systems and antenna.

I am looking to the issue. Will contact mfr. on that.

Sat phone ready

They did it 2 years ago.. usual route via BGBW and then BIKF.
No major issue except some CB on the BIKF to UK. (I don't remember where they stop there but I can ask).

Yours is a nice toy to do that trip... not only a nice movie but even a beatiful aircraft.. don't you need some additional weight

Northern Route

I thought he said he was going the "Northern Route"
If this is the case, he would maintain VHF coverage and thus do away with the legal requirement for HF Gander airspace out of Goose.

That said, HF would still be a good clue!

His route out of the US would be up to CYFB then across to probably Wick or Prestwick via overflying the Faros

He would of course save money missing out Greenland, I mean, if hes going around the world, he is obviously tanked.

Sat-Phone is always a good clue.

Safe trip. :ok:

Around the world

I flew the only airworthy Percivial Prince from Biggin Hill to Los Angeles some years ago. That was fun. Then there was an air ralle through the Middle East and on to Oman. Once from Biggin to tour Africa and as far as Uganda. Great trip. Last winter I flew to the major islands in the Caribbean for a wonderful holiday. But around the world. That sounds totally excellent. I'd like to do that sometime. Suggestion: Be sure avgas is available as many airports no longer carry it and you may need to position it in advance as I have had to do.

PS

On app to BIKF, now.

They will be at Fairnborough

This is all very coded isn't it. Why all the secret messages? If it is such a secret why not do it all via PM?

Sure plenty would like to read and follow such a trip but as it stands this all seems a bit strange.

But will be good to read about nontheless when and if it finally happens ;)

Is this for real or is it some Capt. W. Mitty bouncing his puddle jumper between Scone and Dundee and convincing himself the river Tay is really the Atlantic?
