Great day last year but by-eck, it were cold on t' beach.

140 aircraft registered so far and our first go is only three weeks away on the 14th-15th April. Give the tarmac a rest and come and give it a go for a great fun day out! ;)

I'd commend this to the forum. To land safely on a beach is a rare event and not many pilots get to do it. Unless you fly for Loganair and operate into Barra.

Not sure about the Bikini thing. Lancashire lasses are not known for being stick thin.

Wonder what the biggest a/c to land there is?

I have it on good authority that it was used during WW2 to land all sorts of a/c there and that there used to be some hangars on the shoreline. In essence you could land the space shuttle there with loads of room to spare.

The sand is quite hard and only gets softer if there has been a lot of rainfall:)

The other place you can land on a beach is Southport, if you fly into the air show. Me with elder daughter in the back:
