Canadian PPL Basics

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I am looking for some information regarding a Canadian PPL. I will be moving to Canada for the year in jan and whilst I am there would like to start flying. Can you guys outline the differences between a Uk PPL and a Canadian one and what i would need to do to be able to fly when i return home.

Thanks guys

Moved to Private Flying where this is more likely to get a response.

Don't know anything about the Canadian PPL really.
However, here is the answer to using your Canadian PPL on return to the UK;

This is the situation at the moment, when you get back in 2013 we will be being regulated by EASA, so there may be some differences then.

Sometimes colder, sometimes warmer, apparently less expensive, and many of us land an aircraft on the water more than once! (you can also land on the water with wheels at certain times) :E

I don't know much about the content of a UK PPL, but can certainly give you pointers for flight training in Canada (though I do not do it myself). I do believe that a Canadian PPL is an "ICAO" license, which I believe makes it more welcomed by ICAO nations, but I know little about that aspect.

Where in Canada will you be?
