AOA

So, very possibly the wrong forum, but I will give it a go!

The AOA is defined as the angle between the chord line of the wing and the direction of the wind, therefore suggesting it has nothing to do with a virtual straight line running through the horizontal axis.

Could someone shed some light, as I am slightly confused as to its actual definition.

Hope I have explained it in a way that makes sense, probably not...

Thanks

and direction of relative air flow - wind is irrelevant

ADB25 27th May 2011 14:27

so does it mean it translates to a 0 degree horizontal line toward the direction of the airflow?
