Every time I look at the Bournemouth Echo report it seems to have changed!
An early version was reporting the aircraft as being operated by CEGA Aviation but this has now been removed. Was this reported in error? It now says "The plane was a twin-engined, 18 seater" but I understand it was a Kingair E90 - how do they cram in all those seats? I see they are now reporting site of the forced landed as Dusbury Golf Course - which of course (no pun intended) should be Dudsbury. LT |

Funnily enough, I was just doing some work over at BAE and drove home past the entrance to the AAIB. What should be coming the other way but a truck with two turbo-prop engines complete with props in a trailer on the back.

The other threads here and elsewhere suggest fuel contamination, but just how badly would avtur have to be contaminated to not burn in a PT6 and not burn so decisively so as to bring it down shortly after takeoff?
You could burn Pimms in a PT6, probably... |

As IO540 has said, you could almost run a PT6 on Marmite, so FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) contamination is a non starter... I reckon if there was any hint of a contaminated fuel supply at the point of refuel, people would know, as it potentially would have involved other aircraft.
