Coming into my own
After many hours lost in dreaming, and much browsing of the internet, I acquired my own bird. It was a hard drive to bring her home, on a trailer behind my famous blue van. Even though we were two, we were quite worn out after driving close on 3000 kms in slightly less than 48 hours - mostly on the good German and Austrian autobahn, luckily.
Now comes the hard work of getting all the paperwork filed, and also finding her a home which is not a trivial exercise over here, even with folding wings. With any luck she can take to the skies again by late May or early June. http://users.skynet.be/fa348739/image/DSCN0002.JPG |
Excellent, happy flying :ok:
|
That looks like fun! Congratulations!
|
Looks like a nice machine. You'll have lots of fun in that. Well done!
|
Well done that man.
|
Looks very nice, good luck towards your maiden flight.
|
WOW talk about swept wings ;-) How fast/far does it go?
|
Nice one Jan!:D
|
How fast/far does it go? Estimates based on the POH, practical info to follow in a couple of weeks. And yes, these data only apply with wings unfolded. |
Congratulazioni!!! :D:D:D
|
Thank you, but shouldn't that read "Inaugure!" ?
And you can expect my requests soon for suggestion on routes in to Italy! |
Congratulazioni or Auguri :)
And just let me know when you come to Italy :ok: |

Though it´s fame may be questionable, it´s definitely BIG! With the foldable wings, your Apollo Fox might find it self a blue home--> cheap and mobile!! ###Ultra Long Hauler### |
Congratulations with your purchase.
What will be your homebase? Are you driving it to the airport as well for a days flying? (it'll save you some money on the hangarage) |

How naive one can be... the registration was assigned today, after close on 5 months... Only a few details to be settled now, so perhaps it could be end of September...
I myself have run into some hurdles and bad luck, but my 1st flight looks like late September as well! Will be interesting to see who takes to the skies first! Keep us updated! ###Ultra Long Hauler### |
Congrats! :D Happy flying!
cheers, Jake. |
... and finally flew her today, as yet under supervision from a well-trusted friend and guru.
Solo soon, now, but I'll have to recover from several months of non-flying. If only we get a few more weekends like the present one. |
@Mr Veenstra: apologies for only answering now; homebase is EBHN Hoevenen. But as hangar space is as scarce there as anywhere else round here, she has to be trailered in and out each time. Cumbersome, but she IS flying.

Okay Jan,
tell me………how is he flying? How are you flying? I´m abroad but the moment I get home I´ll be flying my first meters in my project just the same. So I very much relate to your project……. Pics??? ###Ultra Long Hauler### |
