Hi, I'm looking to attain my CAA PPL this summer in the US. Is anyone able to give any personal reccomendations to schools across the pond?

Cheers! Bezza <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

California try <a href="http://www.rainbowair.com" target="_blank">www.rainbowair.com</a>

Mixture of US and Brit instructors, very well run.. .Good aircraft and prices.

Any specific question then feel free to mail me and ask.

I am afraid I dont know anything about the Flroida side of the country but loads on here who I am sure will be able to help you out.

Julian.

Naples is pretty good but you will pay more than the cheapest. They sort out visa's which the others schools don't. I never had problems getting into US but apparently the immigration officals are within the rights to refuse entry without the visa that Naples can arrange.

Brittiania is also good but there planes are old and tired.

Also a bit of warning about posters on schools from the US. The market has shrunk and most of them are feeling the bite so you may find that some satisfied customers are actually the schools themselves.

Search Wannabies for a particular school before paying any money out. Quite often the cheapest school with the biggest advert isn't the best.

Naples is good, I completed my PPL at NAC 2 years ago after doing most of the course in the UK.

Only problem with Naples is the town itself. It's not exactly lively. It feels like an open prison for OAPs, a bit like Harrogate but warmer. But then, if you intend to do a 4 week intensive course, you will not have any time to yourself anyway.
