Aviation Leather Jacket

I saw the most fantastic Aviation Leather Jacket this weekend. It was sheepskin with a flying bold eagle embossed on the back…Would anybody know where I could find a supplier that might stock this?

Sounds horrid to be honest friend.

Take a look at the Aviation Leather Craft products if you want something with quality and class.

Have you looked at the Transair website?

To Who has control?: I think it was either a bold or fish eagle...

I have found I nice site http://www.uswings.com/ but it 2 did not have the one I was looking for, probably a one of thing...

I agree with WWW - I remember that one company used to mke a "top gun" A2 which was rather vile too.

Aviation Leather Craft jackets are the business - I have a plain brown A2 that's far too good to take in an aeroplance, but has to be the best "three seasons" jacket that I've ever had.

If one is chilly when one flys why not wear a jumper?

If one wants to look like a flyer when one is not engaging in ones hobby, buy some cool sunnies.

If one flys ones open cockpit bi-plane regularly and feels rather nippy, one should invest in a thicker jumper.

If one has the desire to look like a plonker when one cascades around the local flying club, one should buy a big fluffy leather jacket with birds of prey stuck to it.

If one takes offence to the above comments then one should lighten up, it's Christmas and Santa has many warm jumpers to deliver! :)

Look in this months Todays Pilot. There's an article on the things in there.

'fraid that particular article of clothing will never be seen on my torso - not since I saw my dad in a sad example during his mid-life crisis  (brown, fur collar, elastic waist...need I go on?)

Toppers 28th Dec 2001 01:13

There are old pilots and BALD pilots

And there are plenty of old and BALD pilots!!!

I agree - Aviation Leathercraft are very good - just bought a jacket from them.

As far as why - well walking around Alderney last week after a very pleasant flight there on the 22 Dec it was B****y cold in a fleece jacket - oh if only I had had the leather jacket by then!!

At SunnFun in 2000 there was an artist there who would paint whatever you wanted on a leather jacket either on you supplied or he could source for you.

Therefore what you probably saw was a custom painted one by someone for someone. Don't know what type of paint used but sure we must have an artist hereabouts who can advise. Then seek out a local artist (tatto parlours may know such people).
