I passed!!

Today, I stepped up into your ranks as a brand new pilot. I passed my PPL written test today and I passed my flight test last week. Sure feels good to be done this first stage. Just wish I had some spare change now so I could actually use my new licence It would be fun to fly somewhere other than the training area for once. Hope everyone has a good day!

Well done, Phantomwray! I did half my PPL training in Canada (in Shearwater, near Halifax NS) and know just how tough the written side of the study is! I was really impressed with the Candian PPL Training - I got as far as second solo and did about 3.5 hrs full spin training (which we don't get here in the UK). That has saved me once from being a big hole in the ground.. .. .I worked in NS for 2 years and frequently travelled on business to Calgary, where our customer was. Also managed several trips to Banff / Sunshine along the way! I still feel tempted to come back and do some flying in the Rockies as I'm so envious of you with the scenery that you have as your backdrop!. .. .Enjoy your flying career, whether you stay private or go commercial; don't just let it shrivel up and die - do exciting things with it!. . . . [ 26 March 2002, 08:06: Message edited by: CircuitBasher ]

Congrats, phantomwray! . .. .Don't forget, if you're stuck for cash, you're allowed to take passengers now, and do some cost-sharing with them! Don't let that license go stale.... .. .FFF. .---------

phantomwray, well done - a true initiate.. .. .Spring is definitely in the air, there's lots of people hitting those milestones (is that mixing my metaphors?). .. .SD

Well done phantomwray the world suddenly got bigger for you. . .. .It must be great flying in the uncluttered airspace in Canada. Mmm, sounds like a good holiday plan.....

Congratulations Phantomwray.. . I am sitting in my daughters house in Calgary, looking out on a clear blue sky and wishing I lived here. The feeling of space around you makes you want to be flying. I envy you. My flying will have to wait `till I`m back in Blighty.. .Good luck for the future.. .. .Mike W

Calgary is where I learned to fly and in the beginning I was very spoiled. For the first two months of training (I only flew on weekends), there was absolutely no weather to speak of. Not a cloud in the sky, no turbulence, virtually unlimited visibility. It was a great introduction to flying.. .. .Thanks for the congrats guys/gals...
