PPL groundschool help!
Does anyone out there know where I could attend PPL groundschool in a class room in the west midlands? I have been learning to fly but am having big problems with studying for the PPL exams. I am working full time, so find studying difficult :ugh:- and yes I realise that most people are in the same boat. I think it would be easier being in a class room with others, as this has always motivated me in the past. Suggestions please.

If you can afford to take a week off work, I know someone that will teach you all 7 exams in one week (5days) and you will pass all 7, or your money back, the only problem is, it's in Bournemouth:ugh::ugh:
But im sure if you buy i copy of Flyer or Todays pilot there are adverts in the back for this sort of training, Cheers. |
Some flying schools offer evening classes, might be worth ringing around. You might also want to post your question in the Private Flying forum, you might get some better answers there. :ok:

You could try Coventry Ground School if thats near you, Coventry Ground School Aviation. The bloke that runs it is continuing to operate out of Coventry airport though you'd need to contact him to find out exactly where. Planning ahead, I think he can help with the ground exam for IMC too. Good luck.

I also recommend what is now Coventry ground school. Well structured course which gets you exam ready by the end of the course.
I used them for all of my PPL exams and the guy who runs it, is even helping me with my ATPL exams! Link Coventry Ground School Aviation |

PM me if any good to you..D :ok: |
One of the best is ex Airbus captain, Jon Price who trades under the name 'Captain Jon'. He has been involved in airline and PPL training for over 35 years and I know he taught Richard Branson, Nigel Mansell and Jasper Carrot.
As far as I am aware he never advertises, never has to, but he definitely operates in the West Midlands. |
PPL Ground Exams UK
Hi all, this is my 1st post, after being an avid reader of this great Forum for nearly 2 years.
Following some very good advices here, I decided to clear all 7 PPL Ground Exams before the PPL Course. As such, I have attended Coventry Ground School in Solihull and cleared the exams in 4 days. I am warmly recommending the school, Richard is doing a great teaching job too and is able to explain all the subjects in great detail. Personally, I used Pooley’s APMs for self study and PPL Confuser and *************** website for exam practice prior examinations and also have attended 8 hrs of tuition in total. Another good point for the school: I have seen students already enrolled in ATPL ground studies paying visits there to clarify various subjects. For the FRTOL, I have attended PlaneSpeak (Wolverhampton Airport), 1 day affair, all very smooth and professional, would warmly recommend them too. I will be heading soon to US (AAA - San Diego) for the EASA PPL Course, hoping to complete in 4 weeks or less, weather permitting. Any further info please PM me. |
For my PPL exams, I used the Oxford CBT DVD's which I found to be very informative. For some amusement, you might want to try the King's Schools DVD's which make for very easy listening, as well as being informative.

The Oxford DVDs do not really prepare you for the PPL exams though. And....how do you ask them a question if you do not understand something ?
