Skills test validity period?

Hi All
I completed my PPL Skills test after 40 hours of training last October. I have only just finished the extra 5 hours required to apply for the license.
Does anybody know if there is a validity period on the skills test certificate?
Cheers
Mike

12 months validity for licence issue

Phew, Thanks for that!

But don't delay making your application as you also have to have a valid medical certificate at the time of application. All it takes is an accident through no fault of your own, and if you lost the certificate, all your effort would have been in vain!

Thats a very good point! All i have to do is the RT test and im done. Better get my a*se in gear and sort it! Thanks for all of your advice and help!

You don't need the RT practical to apply and they won't charge to issue the RT seperately!

I didnt realise that. Is the RT license a seperate document then?

Alan_D 27th Feb 2010 21:22

R/T license is a seperate document, yes.
You can apply for this seperately to your main license, but there *is* a charge of £70 from the CAA to do this, see page 2 of this doc:
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/175/srg_fc..._ppl_09_10.pdf

If the R/T application is combined with the PPL application there is no additional cost.
