Stop thief/ Sheffield

Just been watching a bit of 'Carry on flying' at Sheffield, with an impounded aircraft (Non payment of fees) been chased down the runway by a dozen coppers after someone who's been told they cant have it decided that they could...... If i knew who the pilot was i'd certainly buy him a drink after his big balls departure and good bye wing waggle to South Yorkshire Police who were busy on the phone asking Doncaster Radar to track his movements.....:D I dont think for one moment that the machine was fully servicable and legal....:=

BackPacker 21st May 2008 16:31

Well, sounds like a future ex-pilot to me.

Shunter 21st May 2008 16:42

If it's the PA28, it still has a CofA and was airworthy as far as I know.

Shame that... I was trying to negotiate the acquisition of the GNS430 from the debt recovery agency :E

Hehe, I heard what I thought was somebody doing a low pass but didn't see it.

So, either G-FLOP or G-LFSK ? According to G-INFO the CAA still seem to think that they both have 'No Flight' restrictions. Owned by CLOUD 9 AVIATION (LEASING) LTD. Ahem. :)

Have they been hiding in the hanger?

Good One

I was party to the fiasco at Sheffield today, there are some real shi-s in aviation, the owner flew his aircraft away minus a reported stolen KX155 radio (you know who has this) watch this space !!!!
Some mickey mouse lien placed upon the wrong aircraft and the wrong company, Police still looking for the aircraft, what chance has our national defence got ?

North Pilot 21st May 2008 17:42

Sheffield Fiasco

I also was there today when the aircraft was flown away , I also got an opportunity to hear what the police where talking about!

Apparently the debt collectors messed up the name of the company who owes the money and tried to ground an aircraft which didnt belong to the firm who owed the money.. Hense who ever the so called Pilot was, flew it away.. It wasnt that big a drama!! Most of the cops left after a minute or so, I think there where two/three of them who hung around!

It was a laugh watching all these cops turn up and then waking right back out again..

Dysonsphere 21st May 2008 17:53

wonder what his legal status is, he was prob more concerened with getting his aircraft safe before it was stripped. Very hard to sort out after the event and whos gonna pay for the enginnier time to replace avionics.

helicopter-redeye 21st May 2008 19:55

I don't remember there being anything parked at (ex) Sheffield Disused last week. Where did it come from??

Aztec Driver 21st May 2008 20:28

Good On You Mate

Sheffield City / Peel need to be thinking very hard what happened today, they have a duty of care and as such organised the two aircraft to be hangared, not advising the company, the aircraft were now out of sight out of mind, allowing some thieving bastar-s to remove a serviceable radio ( don't worry we know who you are and will be round soon to collect!!!) a wasted day for an engineer and pilot and travel, because of some muppetts that should be running a punch and judy show at Blackpool and not an an airport,
As Arni said Asta la Vista !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Nipper2 21st May 2008 22:07

Irrespective of the rights and wrongs of this case (which I know nothing about) what were the police doing getting involved in what sounds like a civil debt recovery? Parfum de peche if you ask me.

GANNET FAN 22nd May 2008 08:15

Apologies but can someone please explain what "Parfum de peche" means???

airborne_artist 22nd May 2008 09:13

"Parfum de peche"

The parfum is entirely different

DBChopper 22nd May 2008 11:50

Hmmm.. methinks a bit of poetic licence is at play here. So come on guys, was it,

an impounded aircraft (Non payment of fees) been chased down the runway by a dozen coppers
or

all these cops turn up and then waking right back out again..
And whoever is thinking of marketing "Parfum de peche" in time for Christmas had better sort their peaches from their fish or there are going to be some very disappointed ladies opening presents!

Pomme de terre, as they say :E

Can anyone confirm the registration and where it landed? Also when you say Sheffield do you mean Doncaster Robin Hood or where? Sheffield City Airport is closed other than for the Air Ambulance/Police.

cowl flap 22nd May 2008 13:45

So have Cloud 9 come and flown out one of their aircraft or does it now belong to someone else? I notice on another thread someone is after the logbooks for their repossesed C421.

SpeedbirdXK8 22nd May 2008 13:52

cowl flap - can you direct me to C421 thread, thanks.

two aircraft are in the process of change of registration.

the events of yesterday seem to be a mystery unless one the eye witness can confirm the reg, type and location of departure.

G-FLOP is a C152 and G-FLSK is a PA28 - slight difference in type one might say!

cowl flap 22nd May 2008 14:01

http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=327375

There was a short piece on Look North last night about the incident, it showed G-FLOP still on the ground at Sheff.

SpeedbirdXK8 22nd May 2008 14:50

cowl flap - any link to the Look North news story?

i spoke to Sheffield today and they say there are no aircraft there since it was closed. Any comments?

do you know the whereabouts of Cloud 9 or any contact details?

cowl flap 22nd May 2008 14:58

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/w...re/default.stm

could have been old footage of sheffield with their aircraft there. Are you owed by C9?
