Flying around north wales

Hey - Consider a flight, hawarden - Colywn bay - Llyn Brenig - Hawarden.

Would I be safe on leaving hawarden tower for Liverpool APP for the westerly leg, upon reaching colywn bay I turn south for Llyn brenig.....

Would you contact valley ATC for low flying aircraft even though my track would leave me just outside the AIAA zone? (just to be safe or would you stay with Liverpool even though you're heading south).

Upon reaching Llyn brenig and turning onto heading I would then contact Hawarden APP taking me straight home.

Does this sound about right?

Many thanks

Check your PMs.

Valley wont help you with aircraft flying below 1000 feet that far away, if you are worried about low flying RAF aircraft

a). Lower Airspace Radar Service:
Although many ATSUs can provide RAS/RIS, those whose location makes them particularly suitable for providing radar service to transit traffic, at and below FL 95, participate in a system called the Lower Airspace Radar Service (LARS). Details are in AIC 2/2001, (Yellow 33) Services to Aircraft Outside Controlled Airspace and in the UK AIP ENR 1–6–4, latest chart of coverage shown in 6–1–6–3. The service is mostly available weekdays 0800 to 1700 local.

Very little happens at Valley on weekends if thats your proposed flying day, I'd stick with Harwarden whilst your nearby, listen out on Liverpool whilst travelling on the coast to Colwyn Bay and transiting to the Brenig then back to Hawarden when about 10 miles out.
ps try to avoid overflying the private strips nr Prestatyn especially if you can see aircraft out on the field.
