Just trying out how to post a Photo on the site.


We had to play SPOT THE RUNWAY when we were doing a Private Party with the AN2 in the Summer.



Can you Spot the Runway ?????

Yeah...the big field in the middle of the picture!

Three fields to the left and back about 600 metres??

Is it that little dark patch on the right where those people are standing?

Easy, thats under sown grass in the middle of a half cut wheat field, no prob in the AN2, long time since I flew one at Roundice CHZ !!

Nop thats were the wheels sank up to their axals !!!

This side of the hedge on the other side of the standing wheat about perpendicular to it -- makes about 20 degrees from the top left corner of the piccy down to the right -- seems to have lots of length as goes over brow of hill -- best to land uphill;)

Second candidate this side of hedge going down right side of piccy where people are standing as cutting pattern indicates even ground, but may need more length than in piccy for most a/c.

Approach was from the south over the water butt. ……

The farmer had rolled the ground to give us approx 1,000mts

but he followed the shape of the field that’s why it is so curved.
To the right is MIDDLE WALLOP by 1 field and we were using their
Wind Sock, which is just of the pic to the right.

Here is a Pic of some of the lucky people who went to the Ball
