Bulldog Best rate of climb

Hi,

Any Bulldog operators care to post the best rate of climb speed for the bulldog. I have the POH but can only find the best gradient speed.

Thanks

We are having a discussion on this in another thread, see

Old POH says 70kts IAS

The POH I have says (page 5-22) below 5000 ft 80Kn gives best gradient. I would have expected that best rate of climb was faster, so 70kn for Vy seems surprizing.

In the RAF, we used 80 KIAS below FL50 and 75 KIAS above for best rate of climb.

Best angle of climb is achieved at as close to unstick speed as you can fly. I used to aim for 60 KIAS - or 65 KIAS in any turbulence to allow for handling errors.

Thanks BEagle,

The POH must be incorrect then to refer to 80 KIAS as the best gradient speed, as in the same paragraph it states this speed is 75 KIAS above 5000ft. So this data seems to relate to best rate of climb, Vy.
