FBO Fees and logging hours

Hi guys,
In about a week, I will go the Florida to get my PPL. I have two questions.
- In the US, at an airport, you have 2 or more FBO's. When you land and choose one to park your aircraft, do you have to pay them a fee for using their basis services (using their weather computer, talking to them, walking in their offices, ...)? How does this work?
- How do I log hours: in hours and minutes or decimal? If I fly 1h and 6 minutes, do I note this as: 1h06m or 1.10?

Thanks!

I have never been charged a fee by an FBO in Florida, not even for the cookies or Coffee!!! or the glof caddy to the offices/briefing room/lounge.

As far as logging hours goes, it's your log book and your choice.

And 1 hour and 6 minutes is actualy 1.1 hours and not 1.10

Things have changed now, at the larger airports FBO's tend to charge either a parking fee or a landing fee, usually waived with the purchase of fuel.
Some FBO's require a minumum fuel purchase before they waive others don't.
www.airnav.com is a great place to look up prices and comments from previous customers.
Just fill in the airport name.:ok:

Which ever way I bet it still works out cheaper than the UK!! Plus FBO facilities in Florida are fantastic.

Especially Daytona, Gainsville and St Augustine.

...and as for logging hours - look at the instructions in the front of the logbook or study JAR FCL 1.
