UK Pilot wanting to fly in the USA..advice needed!

Good evening all...

I find myself with several months free time, and a strong desire to do something memorable - and with the agreement of my ever-accommodating girlfriend we have decided to visit the USA from our UK home for a flying holiday. However, for a flying holiday, one needs an airplane...

Now, I'm not asking anyone here to jump up and shout 'Here, take mine!' But what I desperately need is some advice of where I can go to get an airplane, preferably a C172, on hire for a five week period, averaging two flying hours a day - ideally in or around Florida! I've emailed countless schools and FBOs, and hardly any have even replied, so you fine people are my last hope. If anyone knows of an organisation that might rent on these terms, or a private owner who might rent out their aircraft, I would be forever grateful (and even drop in with a bottle of fine wine once I'm in-country as a thankyou!) I suspect that the collective know-how of any USA residents, or pilots who have had similar adventures, here will have vastly more success than my frenzied google searches...

Please feel free to email me if you can offer any advice - or if anyone lives near Cambridge UK, come for a fly and we can discuss it over a beer afterwards!

"Aussie Air", in Deland. C172 from some $65 an hour.

German white, please....and a big bag of Maltesers.

Don't forget http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/175/srg_fc...on_process.pdf if you haven't already.
