Where Can I buy US VFR Sectional Charts ?

Anybody know where in the UK I can get US Sectional VFR Charts ?

Can view them here http://skyvector.com/ but as I am off to the US in July, would like to get the proper up to date version of Denver Sectional first.

Transair only stock 1 or 2 popular ones (like Miami).

I bought some from Skygeek. They are only $5.99 and they came pretty quick, even with the cheapest delivery.

Use outdated ones to prepare and buy a recent one as soon as you arrive? Every flight school and rental shop has a small pilot shop which at the very least will have the most up to date charts and the AF/D.

US charts are updated more frequently than Euro charts (once every six months, I believe) and the AF/D is published every 56 days. (The AF/D contains the amendments to the charts, among other things.) So make sure you get up to date stuff.

I've got an outdated one but where I fly in Colorado, they didn't have any new ones in their little pilot shop. I used the out of date one to plan and then borrowed an up to date one from one of the FIs to actually fly with.

Despite they are re-issued regularly they are cheap enough not to worry about. They aren't laminated or anything so an ordinary pencil will do to write on them. And if it doesn't rub off ... so what they are only about £3.00 each.

Lesson there for the Campaign Against Aviation.

I could probably get one from Sporty's with my Visa card and get it delivered to my daughter's in Colorado Springs.

My friend Randy of Arizona Aviation Supplies keeps the entire US in stock and is used to shipping to UK. Sorry about the unabashed plug!

I'm doing pretty much the same thing, off to the US for flying. I've bought my sectionals (3 of them) from http://www.avshop.com/ they came within about 10 days. Good price too.

FAA Sectionals are Cheap

Ordered them from Avshop on Friday night, let s hope they arrive in the next couple of weeks, before I go.

The FAA appear to charge $8.60 each for sectionals, Avshop seemed to be discounted to $7.70 with a total of $1.00 post for the three I ordered. I only wish the CAA and Transair could do a deal like that. £4.00 instead of £13.99.

:ok:

The sectionals arrived within about 10 days of my ordering them (they had a US mail tracking number Emailed to me so I could follow them as far as thir outbound flight from the US) and were just what I needed and I had time to review before I flew to the US on 17 July.

Good service, I'll do it that way again as they have now expired.
