Any suggestions for a:
Good school with a good instructor in a good plane at a good rate in a good location near london?

Not that I ask for much...

Old Sarum sounds fine.
Otherwise, please not too near London.
A pilot was not long ago killed doing aero training under the London TMA, needing to do it between 500' and 2400'. No possibility of recovery from an error at that height, he got into an inverted spin. See the AAIB report. Surely even where the base of the TMA is 3500' its not responsible for aeros training, especially with so much traffic skirting the CTR.

I think for ab initio aeros most schools teach 2,000' dual and 3,000' solo as minimum heights - and that is to finish a maneuver, starting at 2,400 in most basic aeros aircraft I would suggest is bad practice and certainly 500' is not a good example to set to a student.

Another vote for AC at White Waltham - whatever your level of ambition, from ab-initio to making it into the British team, he is the man to fly with.

Edited: Foxmoth - you have a PM..

If your prepared to travel a little east of London into Kent then I'd recommend The Tiger Club. They operate from Headcorn Aerodrome, IMO one of the UK's most interesting aerodromes. They have a couple of different aerobatic types but their CAP 10b upgraded with a carbon wing seems to be the choice. The hire rates are reasonable and there are no instructor fee's! See www.tigerclub.co.uk .

Old Sarum "near London"?
It's almost 90 miles from London.
If you're prepared to travel that far each time you want to fly, then Ultimate High at Kemble is about the same distance, specialises in aerobatics and advanced handling, and consistently gets very favourable reviews on Pprune and elsewhere.

White Waltham is a superb club - great atmosphere, best clubhouse in the country, near to London and Alan Cassidy has a superb reputation.

sussexlad makes a good suggestion. The Tiger Club is the longest established specialist aerobatics club in the country with a well-deserved fine reputation. The Club is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts so very competitively priced. Headcorn is less than 50 miles from London.

I am London based and have been training with Paul Ambrose at Popham in his Pitts S2B. Takes about an hour to get there.

Couldn't rate him highly enough - gets the right balance between enjoyment and learning (which you couldn't say about all the 'top' aerobatics guys in the country).

Totally hooked and deep stalling in my dreams... :8

PA at Popham is a class act!
AC at WW is also recommended.
