Engine and 2 EFIS stolen from Belgium, help needed.
A friend in Belgium has had his new aeroplane trashed by some low life. The aircraft, an Esqual was butchered in the theft as the thieves tried to cut the front off the plane. This happened only a few weeks after the aircrafts first flight. The theft was from EBST, St Truiden on the 25th of May
The Engine is a Jabiru 3300 serial # 559 (33A559), in short supply at the moment due to the activity in the US with the light sport aircraft category. The EFIS Grand Rapids multi function displays serial # 45 + 46 (MFD-01-03001 45 and MFD-01-03002 46) Belgium has a small aviation community so it is likely that the parts from this theft may appear elsewhere. The full parts list is below with serial numbers. Much of it certified equipment so will be fully traceable. Very sad story.
Scumbags whoever they are.. I will certainly keep an eye out here Stateside.. there are a few big lightsport dealers here in Colorado. Sincerely hope they are caught. |
This has already been posted here. I reported it in Usenet, to reach the USA better. The stuff is likely to end up on US Ebay or in the refurbished avionics market.

As someone who looks after significant sums of money on behalf of others, I have become accustomed to surprises and the odd shock.
I really can't begin to think how shocked the owner would have been to come back to that. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their nether regions. The Wombat |
You can bet it was organised by somebody very close to the project.

I bet you are on the money there. Someone with a grudge maybe. |
