stiknruda 5th Apr 2007 07:25

plummeting from 3000' inverted trying ever so hard to try and effect 1 1/2 spin recovery on a desired heading.... the other boys make it look so easy!:ugh: :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

SkyHawk-N 5th Apr 2007 07:32

A beautiful evening, and apart from my gliding colleagues it seemed I had the Norfolk skies all to myself. Looks like a great weekend coming up as well.

Zulu Alpha 5th Apr 2007 08:14

plummeting from 2500' inverted effecting a 1 1/2 spin recovery perfectly on exactly the right heading....and much more.:) :)
Stik...Didn't hear you on the wireless old boy! Are you going to the icicle?

wx

It's amazing how many weekdays have been warm and sunny, with the weekend being cloudy and incredibly windy.

BOO!!!!

east_sider 5th Apr 2007 11:04

Too right about the wind - 4 weekends in a row its jinxed me! Mind you I'm just about ready for first solo and they're not going to let me up there unless its fairly calm...

BackPacker 5th Apr 2007 11:13

east_sider, don't believe what you've been told about safety, not letting first solo students go up in conditions they can't handle and such. The only reason they do not let you go out on windy days is that you'll remember your first solo forever, and instructors know this. So they want the memory to be good. CAVOK and wind calm makes a perfect memory.

Sunday and Monday look good, at least where I am. Might be a bit windy though.

I've been stuck on the ground due ear infection/cold....so have been catching up on my studies for IMC/ATPLS. Oh joy! Doesn't help that the view out of my window right now is showing clear skies too!

White Waltham - Bembridge - Turweston - White Waltham. Yes indeed, brilliant day's flying. :)

soay 6th Apr 2007 10:08

Just got around to looking at my daughter's photos from Wednesday. We had our first family day out and here we are descending deadside for 02 at Caernarfon. The conditions were perfect and there was hardly any traffic.

A fantastic days flying. :)

Mad Girl 6th Apr 2007 17:34

I've spent a couple of hours in a classroom doing Nav (with a very nice man) and then spent the rest of the day sitting in the sun watching OTHER people flying    .

But the wx forecast for tomorrow is good :D :D :D ...so I should get a PPL lesson in, followed closely by a stress busting aeros session :) .

Dysonsphere 6th Apr 2007 19:35

A quick trip down to Shobdon via Wrexham from Barton in the sunshine and back in time for lunch. Flat as a fluke at FL35 on the way down, true hands-off flying for minutes at a time - fantastic!
