PPL ground exams

hi, i would like to know the time limit on ground exams. From the first exam that is taken (Air Law) does it mean that there is only 18 months left to complete the other 6 exams? Also, i would like to know whether the R/T practicle is required?

Thanks

All of the JAA PPL exams have to be passed within an 18 month period. If you take longer than 18 months, you would have to retake those the were more than 18 months ago. Once you have passed them all, they remain valid for 24 months from the date of passing the last exam.

It is not necessary to pass the RT practical test in order to get a JAA PPL however, if you do not include it with the PPL exams you will have to resit the RT written as both RT exams have to be passed within 12 months if it is not completed in conjunction with the PPL. If you pass the 2 RT exams you can apply for the FRTOL free of charge before you get the PPL.
