My Motor Cadet flies!
Hi All,
Today was the day (at last) ... My Slingsby T31m flew and is officially a FLIER and not just a project. I'm a bit chuffed so forgive me :D for my exuburence :) :) :) :D and the duplicate posting on flyer/pprune. I took off from Goodwood at 12:55 for a short flight (it would be silly to stay up too long without a check over) and then later flew back to my home strip. I can report that she flies beautifully despite my less than perfect technique. Anyway it's all on tape, so when I figure how to make it digital I'll post it. Still up there! Boy! What a feeling of achievement .... Yes it is worth building! (well sometimes :P ) SS |

Too true ... the cows run in fear when they see a knife in my hand :E

It does sound rather a nice way to potter about the countryside, albeit at a somewhat sedate pace?
I remember seeing a picture of a twin-engined Tandem Tutor years ago - but cannot find any reference now. I seem to remember that it had a couple of motor bike engines on the struts? I wonder what SE performance was like........ |
Congrats SS!
It must be a great feeling to fly something you made yourself! :D |
Excellent news and well done.

Here's the video
http://www.ivan.pfanet.co.uk/t31firstflight.wmv Had a lovely flight/s yesterday evening, decided to land in another field on the farm and then back to the strip ... Very pleased with the performance so far as she's proving very STOL capable. SS |
Great stuff, well done! :ok:

Many congratulations! Only ever flown the enginless T31 myself.
Now start saving up for your Mode S transponder - it won't cost too much more than the aircraft :( ! |
