No no, it's not that, she's perfectly happy to be in a small aeroplane with me, especially if it's a Beaver on floats, it's just that there needs to be a "real" pilot there, not just me.

(Although she has relented a bit. I am now allowed to take some of the children up with no other pilot, just not all of them at once.)

Now this is just getting 'smuttier' by the minutes! :p

I believe that this is the first lesson for aircrew. Page one, item one - how to use your aviation connections for fuelling lust.

Have been at a number of RAF bases recently when the libido was high and received the response 'all aircrew are the same'.

It is sad really but hey - you only live once.

Just been watching an expert in action this afternoon at Elmsett - come and fly in my Yak and you can play with my joystick. Took one girl for aeros then tried to persuade her friend. Sadly friend wasnt interested but the first girls mother volunteered. Not quite what he was hoping for.

My father always said to me. " You can have flying or a woman ".

So I went off and got myself a flying-woman.

Whereas most couples go for a romantic walk on the beach, we go for romantic walks around the hangars, and ramp. Strange really.

Sorry chaps - missed this thread while it was warm.

All I can say is that those of us comprising the fatter and uglier quadrant :8 of the pilot demographic need all the help we can get when it comes to finding a mate!

Of course it is sad to boast about being an airline captain when you haven't enrolled on your PPL course yet but, hey, if the line works for you and if she is dumb enough to believe it then where's the harm? All is fair in love and war.

As for the point about the gulfstream V not making you sexy I am sorry but even Quasimodo would definitely have pulled with one of those. Now if he also had a decent helicopter he could have found himself a supermodel! A certain diminutive director or formula 1 with a beautiful croatian model wife springs to mind. Money talks I'm afraid, gentlemen.

Scooter girl still embarrases me publicly every time anybody asks how we met (10 years and sprogs ago) by recounting my trying to impress her by taking her flying on our first date.:O Personally I think it was the glint of the 5 bar Air Vice Marshall gold epaulettes that clinched it in my favour - ;) they certainly diverted her attention away from the crappy old cessna I had rented.

It worked though!
