Editing memory map charts

Inspired by all these airspace changes......is it possible to edit the Memory Map CAA charts? I doubt they will release issue 32A (Southern) chart for about a year, so I'd like to add my own amendments.

I guess they are some sort of bitmap so in theory it should be possible?

Cheers

I know that a lot of people have looked into this, and so far nobody has gone "public" ;) on the format.

In particular, a lot of people have looked for a way to move the QCT format into say TIFF so it could be run under Oziexplorer. MM is a pretty cr*ppy GPS application really. The transfer has been done, on selected maps (non aviation), by printing to a TIFF-generating printer driver. You can download the twelve UK 1:50k O/S charts from ED2K for example, both QCT and OZF2.

DAP have stated that Edition 32A of the 1:500,000 chart will be issued with an effective date of 31 Aug 2006 (AIRAC 9/06). It is not intended to issue an interim edition of the relevant 1:250,000 series charts
