Help please - Wanted

I am on the lookout for a cockpit section of a light aircraft., ideally it would have the majority of the instruments fitted and controls. I am a VRT officer with the air cadets and this item would make a superb training aid for the youngsters. Transport can be organised but as we are in the Midlands, somewhere local would be preferred. If there is anyone out there who knows where we could fid such a beast then please drop me a pm. Just look at it as a means to inspiring the youth of today towards a career or interest in avaition.

Also if anyone knows of any other items (engines, instruments etc) that may be of use as training aids then please let me know.

Many thanks in advance

Good idea.... just another option though, have you thought of using the Microsoft Flight Sim on a pc ??...... it would then be interactive..... or maybe the cockpit poster of a C172 found in most aviation shops.

Cockpits

Wasa.
Have you tried getting onto the RAF to ask for a cardboard cockpit or two.
Through flying training I've had Tucano, Hawk and Jaguar and all are pretty good and should provoke an interest, in the absence of the real thing.
A phone call to Linton, Valley or give Mick Jennings (community relations officer) at Coltishall a ring on 01603 267480. There'll be a few spare ones going!
Hope this helps.

You might be interested in having a look at http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=51364 this thread shows Eleven JPs at Cosford.

Indeed they have just scrapped a number of JPs at Cosford. A phone call/letter might be useful. Also, the idea about a Cockpit cut-out is a good one. Have a Tucano one available if so needed.

Wasn't there an old Cessna hulk at Chetwynd a long time ago? Parked by the corner of the hedge I think. Have a look next time you're passing!
