Free seat Elstree to Devon/Wales on Wednesday

On Wednesday 7th September, if the weather is decent, I'm flying from Elstree to the west coast (Exmoor, Cardiff, Pembroke etc.) to follow the progress of a friend on a boat. Anybody interested in coming along for the ride is welcome to get in touch. No costs other than perhaps a cup of tea somewhere. Probably leave Elstree around 11 and be back early evening.

I would have loved to, and taken some piccies of your friends boat for you/them - but I am away :(

Another time fella.

Work will not let me have the day off and most of my family have died over the last couple of years ;) so I can't go, would have loved it.

What will you be flying in?

I've had two interested parties. We'll be in a Cessna 182, so we'll still be comfortable with full fuel. Both are pilots too, which means I won't have to do all the flying.

The boat is on a charity trip around the British Isles in 6 days, doing an average of 8 to 10 hours a day, not including stops. Apparently it can make 40knots in reasonable conditions. It's a shame it won't do 65 because then we could just fly along above it! If the weather is good it should be a fun day out.

Drauk - a headwind of 25 knots should do the trick:D

We found them!

The trip was pushed back a little so we ended up finding them just south of Bournemouth.
