British Legion Poppy Drop Sunday Ceremonies
Poppy drop by civilian aircraft at British Legion ceremony on Sunday:
Well done the CAA for waiving costs associated with an exemption of the "dropping of articles" ANO bit. Bah Humbug the CAA for charging £94 for costs associated with exemption of the 1500ft rule for the same event, same pilot, same aircraft, single event. (Glide-Clear rules apply throughout as ever) British Legion now £94 out-of-pocket for a poxy piece of paper. Next time, perhaps, get a civvy Lanc (Canada?) or Mossie (Kermit Weeks?) to go low level like WWII and darn the consequences, "we did it in 1944, Your Honour" Bad form, Mr CAA |
Presumably the poppies will be dropped from an Air Atlantic Dc3 as they were in the week?

No, as it happened: it was a small single. It went ahead as planned at the appropriate hour. |
