Aerobatic AOPA Course @ O.A.T.

Hi all,

Considering the AOPA Aerobatic course run at Oxford Aviation Training. Currently a PPL looking to learn how to gain further experience of an a/c's envelope and of course improve recovery handling from unusual attitudes etc. [prior to going onto ATPL studies for an IR].

Question:

Has anybody done this 10 hour course? Do you have any general or specific constructive feedback about the course run by OAT??

Kind regards,

Ncbcisis

I've seen the AOPA syllabus which appears to be quite comprehensive for "standard" level aerobatics.

What aircraft do OAT use for the training?

Aerobatic AOPA Course @ O.A.T.

Hi Stiknruda,

Oxford Aviation Training currently have a couple of Morovan Zlin 242L and the Scottish Aviation Bulldog aircraft for aerobatics.

They recommended the Zlins although they are a little more expensive to run...

Any thoughts?

Zlin v Bulldog?

I'm afraid I can't help you there, I've no Bulldog time and the only Zlin I've flown was the single seat turbine crop-sprayer.

Both types are preferable to the Aerobat, IMHO.

I'm sure that you'll have fun. Go to WWW.IAC.ORG and there are some FAQs about aeros that might make interesting reading.
