Oshkosh anybody?

I know I am not the only Brit to visit this rather large event next week (say 10 times the size of the PFA at Kemble...)

I always collect my International Visitor badge from the relevant tent - and then do not meet anybody.........

So, if you plan to be there on July 28th or 29th, PM me and let's arrange a meet

We live here! Fantastic place for 1 month of the year ;)
Make sure you go to the international visitors party at the Nature Centre, along with the international tent.

I know for sure of 5 other British folk who are attending, 'cos 4 of them are staying with us, so listen out carefully and you might hear them in the hundreds of thousands of other accents ;) Arranging to meet up is virtually impossible for us as we are both kind of busy all week, but we'll definitely be at the international party - its about the best one we go to :ok:

I was there in 2001. Had a wonderful time.
As others have said, register as an International Visitor and use the tent as your retreat during the day when you need a rest. Don't be shy. Join in the Parade when all the International visitors stroll off , proudly following their National Flag, to the PA Point I think it was, except that the British don't do that sort of thing so the apparrent Brit presence was very low. If you want to meet other Brits, be identifiably British. You could wear a topper or a Bowler I suppose but a Union Flag or PFA badge would probably suffice. Or socks with sandals. I got my feet sunburned but, luckily, realised it was happening and was able to take precautions.

Or socks with sandals
No, have mercy! :yuk:

You could try carrying a rolled-up umbrella everywhere (I remember the fellow who did that in the film A Bridge Too Far: "I can never remember the password, old boy").

I will be working at Oshkosh during the air show (one of the controllers running around in day glow pink shirts), if you get the chance stop by at the National Air Traffic Controllers Association Booth and say hello.

If a vehicle painted in the colours of Burnley Football Club passes any of you by... just holler "Spitfire" and like magic I will stop and give you a ride!

If you see Photo 1 or 2, give us a wave :)

and please, guys, no socks with sandals :uhoh:

I wear Sandals all the time, but socks and sandals, that is just plain weird.

I hope that everyone gets an opportunity to get together while we are at Oshkosh, I'll be easy to find, you can see our pink shirts from over two miles away. You'll recognize me, I'll be the red hair guy (blue hat) trying his best not to end up sunburned.

For anyone flying in, someone wit has painted a large, scantily clad woman on the flat roof of a large tower just WSW of Oshkosh by about 3 miles, right on the Fisk arrival. The pilots at Pioneer airport have been giving their Young Eagles some "this is how to fly an accurate heading" training and have taken some good pictures of it. Heaven knows what effect it will have on the arrival procedures...... "follow the railway track NE from Fisk, turn right at the large breasts".....
