Taildragger Training in North West England?

Hi,

I'm looking for training establishment that can help me gain a tail wheel conversion. I’m based in Lancashire; can any one suggest anywhere suitable that’s reasonability close? (Say 90 minutes drive?)

Thanks,

I'm sure they do it at Barton, Liverpool or Blackpool. One of those should be close enough.

Do a search to find their respective websites.
http://www.flyer.co.uk/ has a flying school directory on it.

I wouldn't mind doing the conversion myself but have spent all my pennies :(

Hi

A guy writing under the name poetpilot operates a rather nice Citabria out of Liverpool and Barton.

If you have a look on the forums at www.flyer.co.uk you can find him there.

No commercial link here. I just used to fly said aeroplane when it was based at Turweston

Drop me a pm if you have difficulty contacting him.

As FD says - Poet's Citabria at Liverpool is a lovely aeroplane. Flew it myself not so long back. It is available with instruction through one of the Liverpool flying schools (Keenair?).

Beleive it or not, grass roots Barton has no taildragger on the fleet. We have some excellent tailwheel and aeros instructors - but only an Aerobat for the aeros. Poet's Citabria was offered at no risk to the Barton commitee for it to be based there on a lease-back deal, and they turned it down. Unbeleivable:(

That's why it went to Liverpool.

Clearly bonkers if you like jumping from perfectly serviceable aircraft.

Thanks to all for the info and PM's. Will most likley investigate Liverpool for possible training.

Cheers
