This is tragic news. RIP Carolyn. You were an inspirational aviator who will be remembered with fondness and great respect. Deepest sympathy to your family.

So sad. I had the privilege to have met Carolyn Grace on the display circuit in the 90s. She was inspirational and will be missed by family, friends and those who knew her. RIP Carolyn.

I’ve had two serious crushes in my long life. Both were spitfire pilots. They were fifty years apart. Carolyn was a remarkable woman and to be ranked with the ATA women of my youth.

On another site she was labeled as the first female Spitfire pilot to qualify on the type since the ATA ferried them. That is probably more accurate, but difficult to confirm.
