Transponder/EC compatibility

I've just bought a Sky Echo 2 EC unit and I'm not sure whether I should configure transmitter on or off. My transponder is a Mode-S Funke TRT800H with no GPS input, which presumably transmits only a/c ident and altitude. As the SE2 can transmit ident + altitude + GPS posn, should I set the SE2 transmit function to off?

If the SE2 is configured transmitter off, will other EC systems pick up my transponder (without bearing info obviously)?

Thanks for info.

What sort of aircraft?

If it is a permit type you are OK to have both transmitting together..

Thanks ETOPS. My a/c is on a Permit - the info from Uavionix concurs with the advice from Funke - so transmitter on should be OK.
