Transfer of PPL training hours bet country.

Hi all;

may i know whether FAA and flight schools in US accepts PPL training flight hours from other country's flight school? Can the hours experience be legally add up to the 40hrs FAA PPL requirement? thanks.

Yes. The FAA is very simple. Hours are hours. If the instructor is qualified under whatever circumstances you are flying, then it "counts" for the FAA. The hours won't be "transferred." They will just be accepted if they are in a logbook with instructors' signatures. (FAR 61.41)

The FAA minimum for a private pilot certificate (Certificate, not license) is indeed 40 hours. The national average is about 65. The 40 hours are divided into a variety of specifics. For example, if you have 65 hours, but only two of the required three hours of night flight then you are not ready for the check ride.

See FAR 61.109 for the specifics.
