Jabiru Engine Issue

Looking for advice.

Got a pic’ from my LAME at the latest service. Metal in the oil and filter of my Jabiru 3300 engine with only 150hrs Hobbs time. Run and maintained as per Jabiru’s instructions. CHT & EGT and oil temperature & pressure always fine on the Dynon EMS. Not even a runup until they were in the green. Oil changes were all clean until this.

Jabiru emailed the LAME “…. monitor and recheck at 10 hours (25 hours at the very most) and reassess as necessary”. I am not keen to fly it.

The LAME took off the rocker covers & found severe wear.

Some time has passed & the plane is still sitting in the LAME’s hangar. I just want to get flying & can’t afford a new engine.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, There's a powerful Jabiru forum which has many experienced guys on it who know the problem areas well enough.

Try :-

Talk to Kevin Hyam at Beverly airfield. Highly recommended. Has rebuilt our J2200 and given sound advice on our J3300. PM me if you like.

Tried to pm you but apparently your inbox is full! Just realised you are down under so a UK engineer is going to be of limited use!

Jabiru engine issue

Does anyone know of any past or current legal cases being run against Jabiru?
About 20 months ago my LAME found copious metal in the oil-filter of my Jabiru 3300. This was 150hrs after Jabiru zero'd it. They eventually offered to ship & fix it at their expense. As soon as they get hold of it, however, the shenanigans began. Their claims ranged from there being nothing wrong with it to it being unsafe & needing a bulk strip, replacement parts & return shipping…..all at my expense.
An old school buddy, and Barrister has gone thru the email trails, ATSB & CASA files, chat pages and LAME statements etc. He’s keen to proceed & reckons we’d have a straight forward win in court. He is keen to run a class action. I just want to get back in the air and this may be the only way to get there.
I'd feel more comfortable after some research myself and the logical starting point would be inspecting any past or present legal cases being run against Jabiru?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
