Self declaration of medical fitness.

Hi all. I submitted one of these about a month ago. What,if any, response should I get from the CAA? Is there a certificate? If so,how long does the process typically take? No clues that I can find on the CAA website!

I understand that there's a stupidity check - anyone too dim to understand the term 'self declaration' or to follow the CAA website guidance should probably find another hobby, preferably something 2-dimensional.....

OK- the CAA won't issue you with anything. Assuming that your declaration wasn't bounced back, just print off a copy of the form (keep a note of the tracking number), keep it with your licence and go flying. Have fun!!

To be fair on the OP, I recall being Emailed a form that I printed out and signed. I presume it found its way onto a CAA database somewhere.

To be fair to the OP, If he carries his printout, and it is lost with him and the aircraft, it could have legal implications if the CAA deny receiving it.
I found by chance that they had no record of my biennial check for one period, although I have always stayed current, and posted the form to them.
IF I'd disappeared, with my licence and its documents, during that period, I'd have been deemed illegal.

I had this acknowledgement within a minute or two of filing the self declaration and the .pdf attached was a printout of the self declaration with the information I had added. This was in March 2018 so the system may have changed.

When my application ( one of the early ones) was sent I received an acknowledgement where at the very bottom it says to print it off as accepted - or words to that effect.

I'll find out when the first tri-ennial renwewal is sent off in August.

Fill it in, print it out takes about 5 minutes. Nothing to come bach from the CAA apart from acknowledgement of receipt!

Thanks for the responses. I always look for a second opinion on anything medical and a third fourth and more if CAA publications are involved. Keep it up.
