Grass strip near Calne Wiltshire

Can anyone recommend a grass strip (suitable for an RV8) to land on near Calne, Wiltshire please?
Thanks,
Jez.

Yatesbury Microlight Centre ? Is 410M long enough for you?

Position: Lat.51Deg.26' Long.1 Deg.54'W
Elevation: 525' amsl
R/W Orientation: 10 R/H 28 L/H (100 deg./280 deg.)
R/W Length: 410m or 1346ft.
R/W Width: 19m or 62ft

The east end of the strip is approx 20ft lower than the west end. Altimeters should be set at the holding point at each end.

Please call: 07836 554554 or 01249 811000 for PPR before setting off.
Landing Fee (Non Members) £6.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply Fitter.
Unfortunately, 410M is a little short (especially as I have the present Mrs C in the back seat!!).
Very best wishes,
Jez

My usual resource https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=11/51.4643/-2.0029 also shows Yatesbury closest, all others a good deal further off. Or RAF Lyneham should be an option - but I don't think they have grass runways

Depending upon how far you have flown you might decide that Garston Farm (16 statute miles by road) is close enough. We were in there yesterday. I don't have the dimensions to hand but there was a number of 4 and 6 seater types coming and going. Seemed huge to me but I am used to 380 metres of grass in my 3 axis microlight.

I would finish by saying that it is the sort of delightful grass airstrip that I would want to run if I won the lottery.

Perhaps Clench Common under GS Aviation just south of Marlborough. 08/26 - 443 × 28m Grass Unlicensed should get you in if the wind is ok.
