Aircraft hire near Chicago

Im going to Chicago in early Nov for a few days and would love ( weather permitting) to hire a four seater with instructor as my PPL has lapsed to allow us to do a flight along the shoreline. Can anybody recommend anywhere thats easy to get to from downtown on public transport as i won't be hiring a car. I was looking at Midway as an option maybe. Cheers

Hello stalling attitude

I've spent quite a bit of time in Chicagoland over the years so would advise looking elsewhere than Midway.

Imagine an American PPL asking about Cessna hire at Gatwick

I've flown out of Chicago Executive at Palwaukee and Aurora Municipal (of Waynes World fame) but also check out Schaumberg to the west.

Hope this helps....

Praps look at getting a bus to Rockford or Janesville or Madison. They leave from various Chicago locatons.

Bus is https://web.coachusa.com/vangalder/ss.tickets.asp

govangalder.com

Then look at how far it is to each of these towns airports.
Just a suggestion.

Hi SA, try www.flytea.com at Chicago DuPage, they have Warriors and Archers for hire, very nice aircraft, good rates and good instructors to accompany you. I hired an Archer with instructor and flew to Bloomington Normal and back last year when I was in Chicago on business. I arranged everything by email before my trip, it couldn't have been easier, really nice people. DuPage is near Naperville with good transport links.
