BADA Business Day for members - Duxford - 29th July 2017

Those in the airshow community who are BADA members might be interested in attending this event. The agenda looks interesting.
Reaper 69

At our AGM we agreed that a BADA (only) Business Day was required and undertook to provide that free of charge. We have now arranged facilities at Duxford on 29th July for this event.

Our outline programme, running from approx 1000 to 1630 currently is designed to address 5 questions:

1. How does parliament/government view airshows? - dependant on the outcome of voting on 8 May!

2. How do we maximise the performance of our events? - including sponsorship, etc.

3. How do we manage risk in the post-Shoreham world? - we hope to have something from the Health & Safety Laboratory (HSL) who wrote the report on the Shoreham RA

4. Can display pilots offer event organisers a more economic service? - and what are the current difficulties pilots face?

5. How do others (e.g. HAA, LAA) view UK airshows? - e.g. HAA, LAA

6. What has been tried in the past? - What next for BADA?

Each of the first 5 question sessions will include 10-20 minutes for open discussion that will guide the last session on the Association's future.

In parallel, we are exploring the options for some running separate training streams but that is still to be confirmed; flying regulations and rules will NOT be on the agenda!

If you are already committed elsewhere on 29 July, my apologies, but we think this is something that must be completed soonest, rather than wait to the end of the current season when everyone will be free. For everyone else, I hope you can save the date and make the trip to Duxford.

Best Wishes,

John Turner, BADA Chairman
