Crash Landed Drone

I saw on my village's facebook page a picture someone had taken of a drone, with the caption. "A drone crash landed in my garden a couple of days ago...anybody lost it and why was it flying/spying over my house?" I'm genuinely interested in everyone's reaction to this.

Also, do the CAA have jurisdiction over all drone flights or just commercial ones?

I live in Radlett BTW, which is directly under the circuit for Elstree...

Nearly a million drones sold last year with only a couple of problems outside of where they were flown with malicios intent.
Drones - a perceived problem that never happened.

Not quite on topic - but I did see a report in the press this week of an unnamed country which downed a $200 drone available on Amazon.com with a $2million!!!!! Patriot missile.

OK not too good on the bangs for your buck scale but rather impressed that it got such a tiny thing.

Yes, UK has 'person, vehicle etc.' Not under your control, which is a bit more common sense. If you want to hit yourself or your own car you are welcome...

A guy has got a substantial time in jail in Scotland for crashing his drone into someone's garden.
(It was near a prison, carried drugs and mobile phones, and had a camera which showed him.)
