It is a FACT that the citation for the HCAP award says it was an award for a DUAL flight, and Erwald is mentioned in that citation. Nothing could be clearer than that!
“But I did NOT act as a pilot nor as a flight instructor on these expedition flights”

The constant references to solo flight could only have come from the Boeing and Artemis publicity teams handouts.
If you read most of the stories they have similarities to suggest they were just edited from press releases.
This from ITV in the UK.
Pilot says solo adventure is a long awaited dream | Meridian - ITV News
ITV and others must be forgiven as they witnessed the big launch party at Farnborough where TCT departed alone only to hours later meet up with Ewald Gritsch who climbed in to the front seat in France.
In my opinion Boeing saw this as a nice big global PR exercise during their centenary and hijacked the record breaking trip of the English aviation pioneer for their own publicity. The fact that the Amy Johnson voyage was in a British built aircraft over a decade older than the Stearman was eclipsed by the fact that most people think all biplanes look the same.
There were constant references to "following in the footsteps" or commemorating Amy Johnsons solo flight to imply TCT was doing the same. Boeing themselves issued media handouts claiming it was a solo trip.
The solo claims continued well after the event as the Boeing brand was promoted in key places such as the United Nations in Geneva last April. For those of you who have not seen it before the promo text clearly mentions solo claims for both trip and ironically they chose the famous picture of Ewald trying to hide on arrival in Sydney.

Pilot says solo adventure is a long awaited dream
Tracey Curtis-Taylor has set off on her 13,000 mile solo flight to Australia from Farnborough, following in the footseps of pioneering aviator Amy Johnson. She said the flight is the culmination of a 30 year old dream and "fulfilling a destiny which was always meant to be."

"Solo" press releases...
Jay - you are right... eg from the sponsors themselves...:
http://http://www.boeing.com/resources/boeingdotcom/media/dubai2015/pdf/releases_local/FinalEngStearmanflight_UAEPressRelease.pdf
..."Boeing sponsors solo open cockpit flight from UK to Australia"
So clearly that's what they felt they were paying for.
(Edit... since posting the above link I see Jay has added the same one to his own post - it does reinforce the ludicrous stance of TCT attempting to blame the media for claims of "solo").

As I wrote earlier, the 'defenders' never answer the central question, they pick on other points. Yesterday it was badges, today it's Ewald and 'dual' flying. Why did she (specifically on her website and video) and her sponsors state on numerous occasions that she flew solo and subsequently accept awards on that basis, when she patently didn't? That's the real deceit.

Peeling back the layers
I must say this story becomes more interesting the more you peel back the layers of the onion.
It now appears Prince Michael was actually at the launch leading an invited key Pakistan military group.

Terry,
Quick question.
You seem to be saying that you and others knew, from the very start, that the flight to Aus was not planned as a solo flight (maybe dual maybe not but we can leave that). So, as it appears the rest of the world, including the sponsors, presumed a solo flight, can you give a little insight into how you had the inside-track on the enterprise when others including, apparently, TCT herself, didn't.

All my posts carry links and there is one below.
Here is one to the gathering in Karachi where unless my eyes are deceiving me there are no women apart from TCT despite the slogan behind them.

A nice idea John but no 'empowered' ladies at the table above!
This paragraph says a lot.
In other words they are quoting from the press release.

Karachi embraces Tracey Curtis Taylor on her solo journey to 23 countries

John A. Tucknott, MBE, the serving British Deputy High Commissioner to Karachi stated that her journey was an inspiration. ‘It’s a message to all women: Don’t give up. Nothing is out of reach; sky is the limit’.
HRH Prince Nikolaos of Greece expressed his views quite frankly and said ‘she is a real brave woman, setting an example of women empowerment’. His Excellency John A. Tucknott, MBE, the serving British Deputy High Commissioner to Karachi stated that her journey was an inspiration. ‘It’s a message to all women: Don’t give up. Nothing is out of reach; sky is the limit’.
Representing the Chief of Air Staff, AOC Southern Command, Air Marshal Salman extended his all-out support to make the even possible, as disclosed by Ghouse Akbar, Chairman Princely Jets in his welcome note. Just like Hussain Dawood, he also hoped the energetic lady-pilot would see Pakistan in its true colours. Mr. Sultan Allana, Chairman HBL was the first to welcome the distinguished guests.
It was revealed from her brief description that Tracey’s flight will take 12-14 weeks with her arrival in Sydney planned for early 2016. Her journey will take her across Europe and the Mediterranean to Jordan, over the Arabian Desert, across the Gulf of Oman to Pakistan, through India and on to Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia before crossing the Timor Sea to Australia. The official press-note has disclosed. After her arrival in Sydney the plane will be shipped to America and flown across the United States to complete the world flight in 2016.
Amy Johnson, who dared the unique venture had completed less than 100 flying hours and had literally crashed, while making a forced landing in Australia, as Tracey apprised the media of that historic feet. She smilingly said, ‘I can’t reproduce what she did’.

Tabs please !
To be fair Mr Sata, there is a picture of the event from your post a few pages back where another woman is clearly present.
The walkie talkie and sunglasses suggest to me she was some sort of security person.

Poor old Amy Johnson must be turning in her grave.
It took her 20 days of hard flying alone in Jason.
No high end hotels or Pol Roger champagne sponsorship.
Boeing have tried to exploit her achievement to bolster their own name.

The wording of the blurb from the UN Library attached to Jay Sata's #3553 certainly seems both very specific, as well as more than a little intriguing, by stating, "Tracey once again landed in the news for another historical and treacherous solo flight from the UK to Sydney...". And, yes, I am aware that "treacherous" has more than one meaning.

I have never suggested it was an offense... but for a number of reasons, I find it very offensive.
