Looking for Social flight club Oxford

Good Morning chaps

I have just relocated to Oxfordshire (Witney) and i am looking for a nice flight club, Something with good social events and regular fly outs?

Can anyone recommend anything?

Cheers

If you don't mind an hour's drive, White Waltham has a great club scene, and a good selection of stuff to fly.

Much more locally, there's a good lecture programme and occasional other social events at the RAeS Oxford Branch.

Also a reasonably friendly services oriented flying club that accepts some civilians at RAF Halton.

Enstone is close and has a couple of friendly clubs: Oxfordshire Sports Flying and Enstone Flying Club. I'd recommend having a look at their web sites and paying them a visit.

The former is biased to motorgliders but with a reasonable choice of aircraft and the latter more mainstream SEP but a nice grass roots ambiance at both.

Enstone is a nice hang-out during the day, with a broad range of activities, but no evening social life, other than monthly BBQ at OSF during the summer months, and a monthly Pilots-in-the-Pub meet with EFC in the village.

Shares available in a couple of aircraft on site too... maybe someone can tempt you?!

Oxford LAA Branch (aka Strut) meets just north-west of Woodstock, so on the right side of town from Witney too.
