Personal Flying Videos Mark II
A nice, well-produced video about a lovely grass field just east of Calgary. I’ve never been there, but it feels as if I know it, because it’s about 20 miles from my gliding club and we share the same traffic frequency. 
Took my son and I 9 years to build this.
Not sure if anybody reads these but I'll post one more.
Tough crowd here. I'm at 32.7 hours out of the required 40 for my phase 1 flight test.

Just over a year ago, I had my third dual trip with an instructor friend in his Christen Eagle II. After doing some aerobatics and inverted flying, I did a three-turn spin and then I asked my instructor to do one while I filmed it. Great fun.
During the debrief, I noticed the G meter recording needles showing +7 and -3.
I said “I didn’t think we pulled that much!”
My instructor said “Adrenaline will do that to you!”

Nice. I did my aerobatics in an S2A and like the Eagle it both spins well and exits the spin in a heartbeat. I don't recall that many Gs in a spin. My chute comes next month and I can start doing aerobatics in the Waiex. Positive G fun stuff, it's not the same class as the Eagle or Pitts.

It was the maneuvers before the spins that led to the G readings.
The spins are relaxed by comparison although the rotation rate is quite fast compared to the gliders I usually spin.

I think those readings were brief instantaneous G forces. I wasn’t looking at the meter during my aeros, but my seat-of-the-pants G meter registered 5-6. 😄
I see the limits are +9 and -6 - well beyond my tolerance at my advanced age!

Here is my son's first flight in the airplane he spent 600+ hours building with me. Poor lighting, and the only audio is engine noise, but that smile on first takeoff makes it all worth it.

From the Sonex builder database, it seems there are 7 Sonex flying in England and as many under construction.

It is a great little aircraft - cheap to build and operate. Fun to fly. The Y-tail Waiex flies the same as the heathen conventional tail Sonex, but the Waiex is about 20% cooler.

First time flying today in a long time. We put in a new oil pump with a pressure relief cover and eliminated the filter. The flaps were re-rigged and are good - the airplane trims up pretty stable hands off. Maybe a very slight right turn. Before when I had it hands off there was a big gap between the flap and the wing trailing edge and that has been fixed. We left our phase 1 flight test area for the first time and gave Adam his first landings away from home base. This is DeKalb, IL where Adam goes to college at NIU.
